Meet Katie

I am a mother of two, fitness enthusiast, CrossFit coach, and total birth nerd in the Del Ray / Alexandria community.

I discovered BIRTHFIT in 2019 while looking for a holistic strength and conditioning program during my first pregnancy, but what I walked away with was SO much more. Though BIRTHFIT, I discovered a whole world of childbirth education and knowledge, mindset and nutrition resources, chiropractic benefits, and guided instruction on how to train with intention for birth. These experiences transformed my pregnancies, led to two wonderful and empowering birth experiences, and facilitated postpartum recoveries that helped me become a stronger, flexible, more balanced athlete and coach overall.

My WHY and my VISION

I love coaching. I love people. I love motherhood. I love helping others discover what they are capable of, both mentally and physically. Most of all, I want to equip mothers with the resources and knowledge they need to take charge of their pregnancies, births, and postpartum recoveries. Birth can be an amazing, transformative experience with the right commitment, mental and physical preparation, care team, and a dash of grit. I would be honored to be a part of your story.

My Background

I’ve been an athlete of sorts for as long as I can remember, from girl scout track meets to collegiate swimming and eventually falling in love with CrossFit. I love to challenge my body both mentally and physically and test the limits of what I can achieve. Birth was no exception. In fact, it was the most epic physical challenge of my life, and also the most rewarding.

I started CrossFit in 2011 and became a coach at Trident Athletics in 2017. BIRTHFIT has given me a venue to combine my love of fitness with my passion for supporting women in the motherhood transition.
